Flower Text Symbols

Flower symbols are the quietest decoration in Unicode: one character, no colour, and they sit in a bio without shouting.

The single symbols work anywhere. The tiny drawn flowers below them need monospace like any multi-line art, so keep those for code blocks and terminals.

Where these work

This page has 20 pieces: 17 single-line and 3 multi-line. The widest is 15 characters across.

The 3 multi-line ones — tiny flower, sprout, tulip — only hold their shape in a monospace font. In Discord that means wrapping them in a code block with three backticks; in a README it means a fenced code block; in a terminal they just work. Paste one into a normal chat message and the rows drift apart.

Questions

Are these emoji or text?

Text — they come from the Dingbats block and render in the same colour as your surrounding text. That is exactly why people prefer them in bios over the emoji flowers.

Will they render on Android and iOS?

Yes. These characters are decades old and every system font covers them.

Can I colour them?

Only where the platform lets you colour text at all — they inherit the text colour. In Discord that means inside a syntax-highlighted code block, which is fiddly and rarely worth it.

Make your own

None of these say your name. The text to ASCII generator turns any word into a banner across 133 FIGlet fonts, and the image to ASCII converter turns a picture into text art in your browser. Both are free and neither uploads anything.
