The single-character hearts below are Unicode symbols, so they keep their shape in proportional fonts too. The multi-line ones are drawn from punctuation and need a monospace font to line up, which means Discord code blocks, terminals and README files rather than a tweet.

This page has 22 pieces: 19 single-line and 3 multi-line. The widest is 16 characters across.

The 3 multi-line ones — small heart block, ascii heart, line heart — only hold their shape in a monospace font. In Discord that means wrapping them in a code block with three backticks; in a README it means a fenced code block; in a terminal they just work. Paste one into a normal chat message and the rows drift apart.

Questions

Why does my heart art look crooked when I paste it?

Multi-line art only lines up in a monospace font, where every character is the same width. In a proportional font a space is narrower than a star, so the rows drift. Paste multi-line hearts into a Discord code block (three backticks) or a README code fence and they stay square.

Will these show up on every device?

The single symbols (♥ ♡) are old Unicode and render everywhere, including plain SMS. The kaomoji faces use Japanese and Cyrillic characters that are safe on phones and desktops but can fall back to a box on very old systems.

Can I use these in a username?

Usually yes for the one-character hearts, though a lot of platforms strip symbols from handles while allowing them in the display name. Try the display name first.
